Security Sector Reform UNITED NATIONS

On behalf of the UN Inter-Agency SSR Task Force, the SSR Unit, within the DPKO Office of Rule of Law and Security Institutions, was mandated to develop and manage a roster of SSR experts. Launched on 1 February 2010, the UN Roster of SSR Experts provides a pool of pre-screened qualified experts for quick deployment upon request for SSR assistance. Member States and UN entities can request assistance from Roster experts in one or many of the 21 areas highlighted below. Subject to suitability and availability, in support of national SSR efforts, experts included on the Roster could be deployed on specific assignments that may last up to three months, and would work closely with the SSR Unit at the UN Headquarters and, where applicable, with the SSR team in the field.

All interested candidates are invited to apply and submit their completed UN Personal History form (P.11) through the application form below. Applications will then be reviewed and shortlisted candidates will undertake an assessment, induction and selection process. There is no deadline to apply, as applications are received continuously and assessed on a regular basis. New experts are added to the Roster once a year. Inclusion of an expert on this Roster does not imply any obligation by either the UN or the experts on the Roster
